Betty Layton, 89 of Magee, Mississippi passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Bedford Care Center in Mendenhall, Mississippi. She was born Friday, May 18, 1934 in Magee, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm with Funeral Services to begin at 3:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Magee City Cemetery. Bro. Buddy Keys will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

Mrs. Betty was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Magee, where she was an active member of the choir. She enjoyed traveling with the church on their trips and serving in any way she could. She loved to attend USM football games and cheer on her Golden Eagles. She was an avid cat lover. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Glenn Layton; daughter Valeria Layton Gregory; father, Henry J Roach; mother, Myrtle Butler Roach.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Jeffrey Layton (Cindy) and Wesley Neil Layton (Robin); grandchildren, Jason Layton, Jasper Layton (Dawn), Hallie Layton May, Michael Layton; and a host of great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Friends and family.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Bedford Care Center for the exceptional care given.
