Betty Jean Yates passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021, at the age of 78. She was born to Walter and Grace (Statham) Ratcliff on March 18, 1943, in Hattiesburg, MS.
Though she graduated as a cosmetologist, she was best known for her love for her family and friends.
She was survived by her son, Robert Yates; daughter, Leigh Toni Yates; brother, Walter Robert Ratcliff; grandson, Robert Yates, Jr. and great-granddaughter, Marion Faye Yates.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith Yates, and daughter, Gracie Yates.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Sardis Baptist Church in Morton, MS. Services are at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Kevin Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
