On Saturday. April 9, Bella Broadhead, a junior at Simpson Academy, was named the Distinguished Young Woman of Simpson County for 2023 during a statewide scholarship program for high school juniors held at Meridian Community College.
Bella was one of 10 high school junior girls from MS who competed in the At Large Program for the opportunity to represent their city/county in the state program in Meridian, July 14-16. Throughout the next year, Bella will represent her county and serve as a role model to young people by spreading the program’s national outreach message of “Be Your Best Self.” The outreach program is designed to encourage self-esteem and excellence in all young people through its five principles: Be Healthy, Be Involved, Be Studious, Be Ambitious, and Be Responsible.
