The Scriptural passage for today is found in Ephesians 4:2: “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” The apostle is speaking to the early Christians at the church at Ephesus, instructing them in how to conduct themselves while dealing with one another. Love, humility, gentleness, and patience are all essential in order to coexist peaceably within any group, but especially in a church setting. It’s all about the example we set before others. We are never to sow seeds of discord and confusion with our fellow brothers and sisters and must be mindful that the younger members in the faith are always watching to see how the more seasoned among us act and react. As Christians, we must never forget how we conduct ourselves whether in the church or out. Yes, we should be all about love, patience, gentleness, and humility. As we go about our day today, be sure to spread these Christ-like attributes which we know to be entirely pleasing to God. He does not like ugliness of any kind, especially among His children. God is a God of love, but He’s also a God of punishment.
