What is school going to look like in this upcoming year? Will we have regular classrooms? Will everyone be wearing a mask? Will students eat lunch in their classroom? Will teachers rotate between classes rather than students? How many can ride a bus? How many are allowed in a classroom? What happens to extra curricular activities? Do we have sports? Do we have band?….the list goes on and on.
Although no official announcements have been made at this time, our Superintendent of Education, I am sure, is constantly receiving updates from the MS Department of Education. One of the things about updates, they change everyday!
I do feel we must be supportive of whatever path out schools take. We must be ready and willing for changes we probably don’t like. Heck, the superintendent probably doesn’t even like them!
I’ve done some reading on suggestions for re-opening schools. We know in our area remote learning is really not an option because of internet issues. Does one group of students/grade go to school a certain day? (like all odd grades goes on Monday and Wednesday and even grades on Tuesday and Thursday)
We have been in uncharted territory for awhile now…and I think we are only beginning to see what uncharted territory looks like.
Patience and kindness….something we need to practice and teach during this time.
Decisions will not be approved by everyone. We must remember we have leaders who will lead us down this path. We must be willing to walk the walk.
