The Scriptural passage for today is found in Galatians 6:10: “As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Over and over, the apostles in their writings encourage Christian converts to go about doing good and to look after the brethren, their fellow Christians. Jesus, during his ministry, was all about seeing to the needs of others. He is our supreme example, and the apostles walked with Him, observed Him in action, and emulated Him. We today are to do the same. In other Scripture, we’re told, “Bear ye one another’s burdens.” With all the devastation being wrought about us, we’re being given ample opportunity to reach out in whatever venue to help those who are suffering. This is Christianity in action. As we go about our day, let’s reach out and share the love, joy, and kindness God has instilled within us. We’re told that even a cup of cold water in charity (love) given is remembered with joy in the sky. Yes, God is taking notes and naming names, lest we forget.
