Arthur Bracy James passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021, at his residence. He was born on February 27, 1938, to his parents, the late Arlan D James and Vavis (Arender) James in Rankin County.
Arthur worked in the meat industry for over thirty plus years.  Later, he worked for Mississippi State Hospital in Pearl, MS. He was a member of Puckett Baptist Church where he also served as deacon. He made many friends during his time working in the grocery markets as the local butcher and those friendships lasted him throughout his entire life.  His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Renvah J. James, son, Arthur D. James (Gwynn); daughter, Rhonda Vanderford; sisters, Grace Stevens (Travis), Donna Mahaffey (Eddy) and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlan and Vavis James; first wife, Betty Joyce (Smith) James; daughters, Sandra James, Melissa James; brother, Macel James; sister, Maxell Bain and son-in-law, Tommy Lee Vanderford.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Puckett Baptist Church, 6400 MS-18, Puckett, MS from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, July 12, 2021, at Puckett Baptist Church with Bro. Alvin Doyle and Bro. Grant McElveen officiating. Interment will follow in Puckett Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
