Johnny Dewayne Scott, 21, of Harrisville, died suddenly on Friday, July 9, 2021, as a result of injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident. He was born February 15, 2000, in Hazlehurst, MS to Johnny Allen Scott and Connie Sue (Hixon) Cooper.

Dewayne was a lifelong area resident of Harrisville. He was an avid duck hunter, loved to fish and all-around outdoorsman. More than anything else, he adored his little boy and spending time with him was his most favorite thing. He was his pride and joy. He loved his family and his memory will forever be in their hearts.

He is survived by by his mother and step-father, Connie and John Cooper; father, Johnny Allen Scott; son, Bryce Scott; maternal grandmother, Gloria Jean Hixon; paternal grandparents, David and Beverly Oquain; great-paternal grandparents, John and Joy Granger; brothers, Devin Davis, Dillon Cooper, Brantley Scott along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carl Wayne Hixon and aunt, Cindy Lee Boler.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021, at Fresh Anointing of Hazlehurst, 2031 E. Whitworth Street, Hazlehurst, MS 39083 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, from 9:00 am until service time. The service will begin at 2:00 pm with Bro. Tyson Lambert and Bro. Seth Cliburn officiating. Final resting place will follow in Georgetown Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
