(December 12, 1936 – January 20, 2023)

          Annie Mae Smith Shaw, 86 of Taylorsville, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Friday, January 20, 2023, at her home in Taylorsville surrounded by her loving family. She was born Saturday, December 12, 1936, in Raleigh, Mississippi.

          Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 113 Front Street, Taylorsville, Mississippi.

          Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Pastor Matt Crumpton will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564

          Ms. Annie was a member of First United Methodist Church of Taylorsville, Mississippi.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  She enjoyed quilting, cooking, working in her garden and with her flowers, spending time with her friends at the Senior Citizen Building, and most of all spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

          She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny M., Shaw; father, Lamar Smith; mother, Eula Barnhart Smith; brothers, Hassell Smith, Ralph Smith, Edward Smith and Bobby Ney Smith; sisters, Dorothy Smith Vinzant, Edna Smith Franklin and Effie Smith Mitchell; and special friend, Glen Gregory.

          Survivors include her four sons, David Shaw (Diana) of Laurel, MS, Michael Shaw of Mary Esther, FL, Johnny K. Shaw of Taylorsville, MS and Bobby Shaw (Jamie) of Bay Saint Louis, MS; two daughters, Patricia Shaw Benison (Jerry) of Taylorsville, MS and Darlene Shaw Harrison of Monticello, MS; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

          Pallbearers will be Chad Shaw, Derick Benison, Josh White, Brock Benison, Chad Shows, and Evan Shaw.

          Honorary pallbearers will be James Benison, Matthew Shaw, Blake Shaw, Dwight Harrison, and Paul Simpson.
