STARKVILLE, Miss.—Some 60 Mississippi State University Alumni Association chapters and clubs are sponsoring summer send-off parties for first-time students, their parents and prospective students.

Most of the events are taking place July 14–Aug. 12. Parties are scheduled for areas across Mississippi, along with additional events in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Washington, D.C.

Now in its 13th consecutive year, the welcoming program helps incoming freshmen and transfer students around the nation continue their preparation for campus life at Mississippi State. It also provides alumni and friends the opportunity to offer additional support and well-wishes.
