In a Special called meeting of the Simpson County School District, the vote was 4-1 to grant all county office employees a raise. The opposed vote was cast by Stacy Herrin.
According to sources at the meeting, teachers and positions were cut.

Fiscal year 2025 ad valorem is budgeted as $13,408,711.95 for operations and $726,298.80 for debt service.
