Alice Merle Berry, 88, of New Hebron, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at St Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Saturday, April 9, 1932, in Georgetown, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, Mississippi.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, in Shivers Community. Bro. Gary Roberts will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601) 847-4401
Mrs. Berry was a member of Shivers Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed sewing, crochet, and cooking for everybody. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by husband, Thomas J. Berry; parents, John Cody and May Westmoreland Cody; two sons, Ricky Allen Berry and Donald Ray Berry; seven brothers, James Cody, Mitch Cody, Gene Cody, Elmer Cody, Elzey Cody, Buford Cody, and Bootie Cody; two grandchildren, Derrick Williams and Zane Williams; one sister, Vera May Cody Johnson.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Gene Berry and wife, Catina of New Hebron; one daughter, Debbie Jackson and husband, Randy of Shivers; four grandchildren, Donald Allen Berry and wife, Kristin of Florence, Mikayla Kaufman (serving in Air Force) of New Hebron, Cody Daughdrill and wife, Keisha of Magee, Tiffany Woolley and husband, Kyle, Brookhaven; four great-grandchildren, Della Rae Berry, Kenley Carrol Wolley, Presley Anna Daughdrill, and Gracey Lou Daughdrill; one daughter-in-law, Trish Berry of New Hebron; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Randy Jackson, TR Russell, Bill Cody, Wally Lee, Billy Westmoreland, and Kyle Wolley. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Allen Berry, and Randy McLoud.
