Admissions Counselors at Mississippi College Take Recruiting Trips

Mississippi College admissions counselors will soon pack their bags for trips to recruit undergraduates in Alabama, Tennessee and across the Magnolia State.

Prospective MC students in the Birmingham area are invited to the Old Overton Club in Vestavia Hills on February 12. Admissions counselors, parents, faculty and alumni will also be on hand at the premier private golf course. The event runs from 6:30 p.m. through 8 p.m.

The road trips for the MC recruiters take them south to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Prospective students and parents are invited to meet with admissions representatives, alumni and faculty on February 21.

The site of the Thursday evening session is the Great Southern Club on the 15th floor of the Hancock Bank Building in Gulfport. The event at 2510 14th Street runs from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Five days later, on February 26, admissions staffers will travel to Hattiesburg to do their undergraduate recruiting at The Venue in the Bakery Building. The event runs from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. that Tuesday night. Faculty, alumni and parents will join them. The site is at 127 Buschman Street.

Road trips keep coming for the admissions recruiters in the new year. They will be in Memphis March 5 at the Bass Pro Shop at the Pyramid on One Bass Pro Drive. The event designed for prospective MC undergraduates runs from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. that Tuesday.

Admissions staffers led by director Kyle Brantley will be busy again when Mississippi College hosts Preview Day on the Clinton campus on March 30.

On that Saturday, prospective students will attend classes, learn about campus organizations, check out academic programs, and get the latest information on scholarships. They are also invited to tour the cadaver lab, visit the bookstore, eat lunch and explore the rest of the Clinton campus.

In addition, visiting high school students are invited to cheer the MC Choctaws baseball team as they face the Montevallo Falcons. The first game of the doubleheader that Saturday at Frierson Field is set for 2 p.m.

For more information, contact the MC admissions office at 601-925-3800 or go to mc.edu/previewday.
