At approximately 8:20 AM Tuesday, August 1st, a one car accident happened on Highway 49 near Baldwin Road in Magee.
The Magee Police & Fire Departments, Simpson County Sheriff’s Department, and AMR responded to the call. AMR was one of the first rescue personal to arrive on the scene.
Apparently, the driver of a Chevy Avalanche lost control of the car, departing the road, and striking a tree. The driver was pinned under the steering wheel.
The Magee Fire Department used the jaws of life to extricate the driver. The driver suffered multiple injuries and was transported by AMR to Magee General Hospital.
Smoke escaping from the radiator gave the allusion to passing traffic the vehicle was on fire.
