Discipline is a tough word for me…controlling what I should or should not do is just tough…Ya’ll may not be like me…but I struggle in many areas of my life when it comes to self-control.

A person who is thinking properly with soundness of mind will have discipline in all areas of his or her life.

There’s one of my problems…I am not always thinking with soundness of mind!

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity of cowardice, of craven, and cringing and fawning fear, but He has given us a spirit of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.”  2 Timotny 1:7.

I believe our thoughts, words, and emotions are among the most important areas we need to discipline.  Even though it is very difficult…it is easier to maintain a right attitude than to regain it once it’s lost.

Let’s pray we can discipline these areas of our life…let’s pray we can show others how much we care for them and how important they are to us…let’s pray we can control the power of fear…let’s pray we can display self-control.  Let’s pray…when some days are very difficult…we can go forward…we need everyone’s prayers.

Blessings to everyone on this Thursday…and special blessings, prayers, and courage to the family in Mt Olive as they face life with the loss of their daughter.  My heart is so heavy for this family.

Don’t forget the Grief class meets tonight (Thursday) at 6 at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church.  Everyone is invited.
