The Scriptural passage for today is found in I Corinthians 7:10: “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” The apostle is telling the early church that sincere sorrow for sins we commit is most important. That change of heart is essential. It shows commitment and a determined effort to change. If we’ve made that commitment to God and have accepted His gift of salvation, let us approach Him in humble submission when we knowingly sin. There is an ongoing battle raging within all of us. It’s takes place between the flesh (the worldly) and the Spirit. When we sin, we must ask have a contrite heart and ask God for forgiveness and renewal so we’ll have no regrets. Thank you, Jesus, for Your forgiving nature as our heavenly Father.
