John Hilton “Buddy” Bratcher Jr.

(November 13, 1951 – June 9, 2022)

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall for John Bratcher, Jr., 70 of Mendenhall, who passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022 in Mendenhall.

Interment will be in the Kennedy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Bratcher, Timothy Harvey, Jerry Fairchild, Kevin Bratcher, Taylor McCoy, Tim Bailey, and Jimmy Blair.  Honorary pallbearer will be Brady Fairchild.

Mr. Bratcher was born on November 13, 1951 in Magee, Mississippi to John Hilton Bratcher, Sr., and Eunice Craft Bratcher.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.  Mr. Bratcher was the retired owner and operator of Bratcher Poultry Farms.  He also retired from McCarty Family Farms and Tyson Foods after twenty five plus years of service as a truck driver.  Mr. Bratcher was a member of the Kennedy Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Hilton Bratcher Sr., and Eunice Craft Bratcher; one sister, Betty Hemby; and two brothers, Billy Bratcher and George Bratcher.

Survivors include his wife, Marsha Walker Bratcher; five daughters, Tabitha Sullivan Bratcher, Sondra Breeden Bratcher, Sandy Wingate Bratcher, Shelley Fairchild Morris, and her husband, Jerry, and Brandi Mize Bratcher; one son, Kevin Bratcher, and his wife, Kayla;  four sisters, Johnnie Bratcher Eldridge (Monroe), Shelia Bratcher Tullos-Blair (Jimmy Dale), Judy Bratcher Craft-Speed (Jamie), and Angel Bratcher; seven grandchildren, Kadie Fairchild, Brady Fairchild, Hailie Pittman, Blake Pittman, Braiden Bratcher, MaKayla Bratcher, and Brently Bratcher; one great-grandson, Kingston Pittman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
