Seven Co-Lin Baseball Players Garner Postseason Accolades

WESSON – Seven members of the Copiah-Lincoln baseball team have recently been bestowed with postseason honors for their play during the 2015 season. Sophomore outfielder Adrian Brown was named MACJC First Team All-State and also NJCAA All-Region 23. Shane Brown, Choc Hubbard, Austin Resser, Jeremy Moore, Cole Langdon, and Reed Taylor were all named MACJC Second Team All-State.

ABrownAdrian Brown started in all 42 games for the Wolves and led the team with 170 plate appearances.  A graduate of McComb High School, Brown finished with a .318 batting averages and had 47 hits in 2015. He led the team in doubles (12), home runs (seven), and RBIs (44).  Brown tied for the team lead with 12 stolen bases and scored 33 runs. A William Carey University signee, Brown was named MACJC Second Team All-State as a freshman.SBrown

Shane Brown was the only sophomore on the Co-Lin pitching staff. Brown finished with a 3-5 record in 10 starts and was second on the team with 52.2 innings pitched. The Simpson Academy graduate struck out 24 and posted a 4.12 ERA. Brown is a Belhaven University signee.

SHubbardHubbard, a sophomore, appeared in all 42 games for the Wolves as a right fielder or designated hitter. He led the team in triples (four), bases on balls (21), and reached after being hit by a pitch a team leading 10 times in 2015. Hubbard, a product of Mendenhall High School, finished with a .324 batting average, had 40 hits, and knocked in 33 RBIs. A William Carey University signee, Hubbard was named MACJC Second Team All-State as a freshman.AResser

Resser, a sophomore, appeared in 38 games as a first baseman. The Pratt (Kan.) Community College transfer had 40 hits and finished second on the team with a .351 batting average. Resser hit six doubles and knocked in 18 RBIs.

JMooreMoore, a redshirt freshman, appeared in 40 games as an outfielder and led the team with 50 hits. Moore hit eight doubles, one triple, three home runs, and 30 RBIs. He led the team with 40 runs scored and had a team best .370 batting average.CLangdon

Langdon, a freshman, led Co-Lin in nearly every pitching category. He was the team leader in wins (four), strikeouts (48), and innings pitched (41.1). The product of Catholic High School of Pointe Coupee (La.), started a team high twelve games.

RTaylorTaylor, a freshman, played in 38 games as a catcher. The North Pike High School graduate had 38 hits and 24 RBIs in 2015. He was second on the team with 10 doubles and posted a .328 batting average.
