Dean McGovern passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2019. She was born on July 24, 1942, to Howard Kennedy and Agnes Herrington Kennedy.
Dean was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She had a large family that loved her dearly. She had a loving heart and will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by five sons, Donny McGovern (Kathy), Sammy McGovern (Barbara), Randy McGovern (Kim), Joe McGovern (Kathy), Junior McGovern (Connie); sisters, Gloria Berry, Patsy Garner, Victoria Maddox; twenty-one grandchildren and forty-three great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby S. McGovern; daughter, Wanda Pope, and grandsons, Joseph Dean McGovern, William Dean Cox and brother, Bobby C. Cook.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at the funeral home with interment following in Southern Memorial Gardens in Magee, MS. Brother Trent Sullivan will officiate.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
