The team started off the weekend with a win in the shuttle run (a fun relay) during opening ceremonies Thursday night. This relay was run by Braxton Baldwin, Landry Teater, Wynn Dunn, and Braelyn Hall. Friday and Saturdays games were pool play to determine seeding for Sunday’s single elimination tournament. We played Pike (MS State champs) and Searcy American on Friday. We lost to Pike 18-5. We defeated Searcy American 17-7. We won both games on Saturday beating Searcy National 21-1 and Columbia 17-1. We placed second in pool play. We played Searcy National again on Sunday beating them 9-8 to go to the championship game. We played Pike for the championship and lost 13-3. We finished the weekend with a record of 4-2 losing only to Pike. We really had a great weekend. This a great bunch of kids and parents. Team had a total of 103 hits and 72 runs scored. We held opponents to 48 runs. Team was led by Head Coach Neil Lewis and Assistant Coaches Josh Teater, Marney Walker, and Jude Graham.
