The Magee Police Department, along with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, is working together to solve these senseless murders and shootings. We will also be working with our federal partners to make sure that if the evidence supports federal charges against anyone involved, those charges are pursued.
If you come into our city and commit this kind of violence, you better believe we are going to use every lawful resource available to identify and hold everyone responsible accountable. These acts showed absolutely no regard for human life, and we are going to do everything within the law to make sure those responsible are brought before the justice system.
And understand this. This does not stop with the person who pulled the trigger. If the evidence shows that you knowingly helped someone involved by providing a vehicle, giving them a place to hide, helping them get away, hiding evidence, or assisting them in any other criminal way, you will find yourself facing charges too.
If you were involved in any way, shape or form, understand that we are working to identify you. We are not stopping with one person, and we are not stopping until everyone the evidence shows was criminally involved is held accountable.
No one involved should believe they are untouchable. We are pursuing this case with every lawful resource available to us.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol has also been contacted to provide additional troopers in the area. Residents can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence, especially during the weekends.
Sometimes justice is slow, but its reach is long. We will continue working until everyone responsible is brought before the justice system.
