“This accolade is a reflection of our team’s outstanding ability to work together to execute successfully.” Epic Director Loretta McLaughlin said. “This is truly a tremendous achievement for the entire Epic Team, as well as all members of Operations—whose collaboration and commitment were critical to meeting and exceeding these metrics. It represents a shared success across the organization.”

To earn recognition through Epic’s Good Install Program, healthcare organizations must successfully meet a variety of implementation standards, including:

  • Building and training a strong organizational Epic team
  • Working closely with Epic
  • Training all Epic users
    • Including physicians, nursing staff, clinic employees, etc.
  • Setting up and test-running all systems
  • Preparing for downtime.
  • Tracking valuable metrics and using them to improve the organization’s system
  • Preparing for and executing a successful go-live on time

In addition to meeting these requirements, Epic Systems provided monthly progress reports that highlighted SCRMC’s performance throughout the implementation process, recognizing both areas where expectations were exceeded and opportunities for improvement. The SCRMC Epic team consistently earned high marks on these evaluations, demonstrating their preparedness, engagement and commitment to excellence.

Implementing Epic represents the most significant investment that South Central has ever made, strengthening our organization’s ability to provide compassionate, high-quality care and better serve the needs of our community. This achievement underscores our commitment to improving patient outcomes, enhancing the staff experience, and advancing operational excellence across the organization.
