LAUREL, Miss. The South Central Foundation Hope Hustle 5K & Fun Run was held on Friday, April 17, 2026, in Ellisville, bringing over 100 runners and walkers together to help raise funds for the foundation.
This year’s event played a meaningful role in supporting the foundation’s “Where Care Begins” capital campaign, which aims to raise $2 million to renovate South Central Regional Medical Center’s Women’s & Children’s Unit. Funds generated from the race will support upgrades to:
  • Six Outpatient Labor & Delivery Rooms
  • Five Labor, Delivery & Recovery Rooms
  • 15 Postpartum Rooms
  • Four Pediatric Rooms & Family Areas
  • Technology, Medical Equipment & Enhanced Safety Features
“We are so grateful for all of the participants, sponsors and volunteers who helped make this event a success,” Hope Hustle committee chairman and EMServ Director, Wyth Collins, said. “Every step taken today moves us closer to providing the highest level of care for the women and children who depend on us.”
The foundation extends appreciation to the following local businesses: American Graphx, Harris Dental Clinic, Regions, Hills In-House Jewelers, LS Rock & Dirt, Family Dental and Casadores. The foundation is also grateful to the City of Ellisville and to Jones College for partnering and allowing the race route to run through their beautiful city and campus.
To contribute to the capital campaign, please call the South Central Foundation at 601-399-5503 or visit scrmc.com/foundation.
