Neely Farms in Magee was filled with runners Monday as Simpson Academy hosted one of its largest cross-country meets
More than 40 teams and over 800 runners competed despite the intense heat and humidity.
The athletes faced a challenging course, but Simpson Academy runners turned in several outstanding performances.
Izzy Craft finished second in the varsity girls’ race, while Brason Fox placed third in the varsity boys’ race. Brason was the top MAIS finisher and is currently ranked No. 1 among MAIS runners.
Brason and Izzy will compete again Saturday night in Huntsville, Alabama, at the On Twilight @ Pr’ville meet. The remainder of the Simpson Academy team will return to competition Monday at the MRA Invitational.
