Sidney (Buster) Fount Luckey

( July 31, 1937 – February 03, 2021 )

Sidney (Buster) Fount Luckey, 83, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at his home in Magee, Mississippi. He was born Saturday, July 31, 1937.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Kennedy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Roger Lee will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031.

Buster as he was called by friends, life began July 31, 1937 and ended here in this world on February 3, 2021. The life he lived was a simple one. He was deacon at Kennedy Springs Baptist Church and most important he was a Christian. He taught his family the value of hard work and or keeping your word. He and the family lived on the farm where he was born and raised.

He worked at Magnatec (Universal Manufacturing) for a number of years until he began farming. Farming is what he loved best. He never came inside until lunch time and supper time. Buster was a good friend and neighbor. He was always concerned about others and would do what he could to help them. Taking care of dogs, cows, and horses and gardening. His garden was one of the biggest and prettiest in the community and he plowed it with horse or mule. Even when he couldn’t do it any more he would say “I wish I had a horse, I wish I could still raise chickens”.

Buster did not take anything for granted. He told us every day that he loved us. Most important, he showed us love in his actions. He will be missed by his friends, family, and community.

He was preceded in death by parents, Sidney Luckey, Sr. and Delitha Bush Luckey; brothers, Bilbo Luckey and Wilk Luckey; sisters, Gertrue Bynum, infant sisters, Elizabeth and Betty

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Luckey; son, Billy Luckey (Kathy); daughters, Brenda White (Tim) and Beverly Fewell (Shane); grandchildren, Taylor Duran (Courtney), Eli Duran (Hanna), Taylor White , Chloe White, Lauren Luckey, Emily Foster (Dustin), Parker Luckey (Katie), Mason Fewell (Faith), Megan Sartin (Cody), Maizy Fewell, Mitchell Fewell, and Macoy Fewell; great-grandchildren, Lucy Duran, Penelope Duran, Emma Foster, and four great-grands on the way.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Duran, Eli Duran, Parker Luckey, Mason Fewell, Mitchell Fewell, and George Taylor Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Luckey, Johnny Luckey, Ryan Lofton, and Mike Bynum.

In lieu of flowers make donations to Kennedy Springs Youth Fund 2021 Simpson Hwy 540 Magee, Mississippi.

Due to covid-19 the family request that all attendees wear mask and social distancing.
