One of the many things I love about my job is meeting different people. Dr. Sandeep Singh is now seeing patients at Covington County Hospital and in the future Magee General Hospital.

Dr. Singh is a hematologist and oncologist (cancer and blood disorders).

Dr. Singh was extremely interesting. When he shared his degrees, I realized cancer was not his only specialty.  His methods of treatment were refreshing.  He believes in the study of the whole body to really nail a patient problem.  “Listening to the patience is so important,” explained Dr. Singh.  “There are so many things that can be missed if we do not listen.”

Dr. Singh is from India.  As a young man, his father was diagnosed with cancer.  Because the family did not have money, no treatment would take place and his father’s death was inevitable.  Sandeep knew at this time he would spend his life helping others.  Most of Dr. Singh’s studies took place in the New York area.  I asked the Doctor how he ended up in Laurel, Mississippi at South Central Regional Medical Center.  He explained much of his education was paid for by the government with the stipulation that he practice in a underserved part of the United States.  We were blessed with his decision to make Laurel his home…and he loves Laurel and all of Mississippi!

Dr. Singh is stationed at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel but comes to Covington County Hospital on Friday of each week.

If you or your family members require cancer treatment, Dr, Singh can accommodate you.  He excels in diagnostic of patients.

If you are questioning your health or services needed, a phone call to Dr. Singh’s office is a must.  To schedule an appointment, call Covington County Hospital 601-518-7054
