We won 64-0 against Mt Olive.
We were really sloppy week 1 last year which was a point of emphasis all week. We came out and executed at a very high level in all phases. It was 49-0 at halftime. You want to have those games, but in game 1 it makes difficult in some ways knowing who you have in front of you.
Mendenhall is a monster who whipped 6A ridgeland with ease. They embarrassed us last year and physically dominated us. Coach Allen and staff do a tremendous job. He’s a magee graduate, as are several members of his staff, so they are very familiar with this rivalry and what it takes. From us, it will take a tremendous week of practice and high levels of execution for us to be able to compete with the tigers. Last year we started so slow and I felt like we were timid.
The week is starting very difficult for us with tragedy affecting our locker room directly. We will lean on each other and push forward.
