The Magee 6U All-Stars are off to an exciting start at the World Series in Laurel, Mississippi, proudly representing the state of Mississippi after earning a berth with a runner-up finish at the state tournament two weeks ago.
Magee wasted no time making a statement, defeating the Louisiana state champions 15-5 in their opening game on Thursday.
The victory sends the young All-Stars into Friday’s matchup against South Carolina, with first pitch scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
Before taking the field, the team participated in the World Series banquet and opening ceremonies alongside teams from Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Mississippi. The event allowed the players to meet competitors from across the South while celebrating the beginning of the tournament.
Leading the Magee squad are Head Coach Hayden Holbrook and assistant coaches Matt Lee, Jasper Adcock, and Megan Herrington.
