James served on the Braxton Volunteer Fire Department for several years. He also ran and operated “The Play Pen,” which included arcade games and a pool hall in Magee, MS for many years. He loved to hunt and fish. James had a love for music. He could play the guitar, piano and the drums. James was considered a “Jack of all Trades.” He could do anything from installing an HVAC unit in a home to actually building the home. James’s family joined Calvary Baptist Church of Braxton shortly after it was founded. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 5 PM – 8 PM at Calvary Baptist Church. The service will be on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10 AM,  at Calvary Baptist Church, with Bro. Bradley Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Braxton City Cemetery.
