J C Smith, 87 of Taylorsville, MS passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the Magee General Hospital in Magee. He was born Friday, April 3, 1936 in Smith County, Mississippi.

  Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 8:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, MS. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, MS. Burial will follow in Smith Family Cemetery in Magee.  Bro. Dabney Bailey will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Agnes Marie Smith;  brother, Willie Flacher Smith;  sisters, Ruby Marie Smith and Joyce  Bedwell;  nephew, James  E. Hayes.

  Survivors include his sister, Florence J. Smith Woodard;  nieces, Faye  Whittinghill  (David), Teresa  Blakeney  (Stewart) and Melissa  Middleton (Emmett);  and host of cousins, nieces,  nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

  Pallbearers will be Bo Hayes, Shane Middleton, Jacob Middleton, Brandon Middleton, Dewayne Middleton, Patrick Middleton, Michael Hayes, Josh Middleton, and Zachary Middleton.
