James Ray “Jimmy” Ainsworth, 70, of Braxton, Mississippi, passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Friday, November 5, 2021, at his home. He was born Tuesday, April 17, 1951, in Mendenhall, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, Mississippi.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Clear View Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Chris Ainsworth will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601) 847-4401
Mr. Ainsworth was a loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden, and most of all spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Norris Ainsworth; parents, Alvin Ainsworth and Ruth Cullpepper Ainsworth; and three brothers, Robert Earl Ainsworth, Jerry Ainsworth, and Larry Wayne Ainsworth.
Survivors include his two sons, Jim Lang and his wife, Shonda, of Florence, and Joe Lang and his wife, Michelle, of Olive Branch; three step-children, Darla Phillips of Magee, Amelia Owen of Braxton, and Michael Owen of Brandon; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; six sisters, Linda Berry and her husband, David, of Braxton, Debbie Cooper of Jackson, Joyce Henserling and husband, Mark, of Braxton, Janice Ellis and husband, Dana, of Pearl, Diane Holbrook and husband, Bill, D’Lo, and Peggy Mayers and husband Jeff, of Brandon; two brothers, Ricky Ainsworth and wife, Glenda, of Braxton, and Charles Ainsworth and wife, Patricia, Braxton; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Phillips, Cody Blair, Zackery Phillips, David Sharp, Eric Taylor, and Robert Murphee.
