Oh, how I wish there were a magic potion I could sprinkle on every heart that’s hurting… or just the right words I could say to take away the pain that comes when we lose someone we love. But grief doesn’t work like that. There’s no timetable, no finish line, and no morning when you wake up and everything is suddenly “back to normal.” Grief walks with us, and some days we’re just doing our best to make it through the day.

If you find yourself carrying that heavy load, I want you to know you don’t have to carry it alone.

Beginning this Sunday, First Baptist Church of Magee is offering a Grief Support Group (GriefShare) — a safe, welcoming place where people truly understand what you’re feeling and where you can share as much or as little as you’d like.

Happy 50th Birthday, Amanda!

This 12-week session begins Sunday, January 18, and continues through April 19, meeting from 3:00–5:00 PM in the Family Life Center Parlor at FBC Magee (just across from the main sanctuary).

There’s no registration required — just come as you are. If you need more information, you can contact the church office at 601-849-3304.

There’s also a video that explains more about what to expect, and I encourage you to take a moment and watch it. Sometimes the very first step is just knowing you’re not alone… and in Magee, we take care of our own. 💜

(Sorry, I can’t figure out how to get Board of Aldermen tag at the top of the video!)
