A press conference was held Friday, April 9, 2021 announcing Zack Jones as the new Head Coach and AD for the Magee High School Trojan Football team.
Jones was approved by the Simpson County School Board Thursday evening during their regular scheduled meeting.
Jones leaves Lumberton High School were he helped guide them to a 1A State Championship win over Biggersville this past season. In six seasons, Jones was a three-time South State champion, won five straight region titles and posted a record of 65-19.
Jones is a 1999 Graduate of Lumberton High School. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and recevied his Masters and Specialist Degree from Arkansas State University.
Jones has 14 years of coaching experience at Forest, Pearl, Pelahatchie, Philadelphia, and Lumberton. The last six years he has been the head coach of his AlmaMater.
Jones stated “it is an honor to coach at a school with such strong football tradition, and players it is an honor to play at a school with the history and tradition that Magee carries.”
Jones is married to his lovely wife Brittany. They have an adorable puppy named Paxton and are expecting a new baby!
