Z-Diner En Blanc Simpson County 2022
On September 30, 2023 Rho Iota Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated hosted its Annual Z-Diner En Blanc Simpson County. This event was hosted downtown, historic Main Street Mendenhall with the courthouse serving as the setting.
“Z-Diner En Blanc”, is an elegant, event, under the stars. The all-white with a touch of blue dinner party is by invitation only and is exclusive to its guest and specific hostess. The event is held at an undisclosed location, with all guests dressed in uninterrupted white. The guests were greeted by a jazz medley as the venue was all prepared in anticipation of their arrival. The guest was served at least a three-course dinner under the stars that was unforgettable, as well as a concert performed by southern soul artist; 2-Smooth and dancing the remainder of the evening. This was truly a time for networking, reconnecting with old friends, as well as the opportunity to make new ones. From the elegance of the elaborate table settings to the whirling of the napkins to start dinner, to the lighting of the sparklers to start the evening festivities, an awesome time was had by all. If you did not receive an invitation to this year’s “Z-Diner En Blanc” get on the list and attend next year. It will surely be an event you don’t want to miss. This event assists the Sorority in raising money for scholarships for area students. This event is a collaborative effort of Rho Iota Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and the awesome Mayor of Mendenhall, Todd Booth. It is with his assistance that the sorority has been able to award scholarships at the following schools: Magee High, Mendenhall High, Simpson Academy, and the most recent $5,000 award being awarded to a student matriculating at Lawrence County High School.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded January 16, 1920, on the campus of Howard University. Rho Iota Zeta chapter was founded June 19, 1999 to service Simpson County. Since its inception the chapter has grown to more than 100 college educated, community conscious, sorority-minded women. The chapter continues to promote cultural awareness and civic obligations to Simpson County and awards thousands of dollars yearly to local high school graduates. Rho Iota Zeta Chapter was charted by: Cassandra Owens-Walker, Sandrena Lofton Durr, Eushekia Taylor, JoSonda Logan McNair, and Lillie Hardy. The Chapters Motto is: Service is What We do! Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is a community conscious action-orientated organization.
