You’re invited to Carey Carnival!

William Carey University invites the community to its “Carey Carnival” on Oct. 21. The fall festivities are free of charge at WCU’s Hattiesburg campus from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Guests can enjoy great food, fair rides and games while listening to a concert from the Winters School of Music. They can also watch the ribbon-cutting for a new outdoor stage at 6 p.m. – and hear a major announcement from WCU President Dr. Ben Burnett.

At the Carey Carnival, you can:

  • Sample pulled pork nachos, sliders, corn dogs, chicken tenders, cotton candy, and ice cream. And taste something called apple nachos with caramel.
  • Try the fair rides – carousel, mechanical bull, ninja tower, and 90-foot super slide. Plus bouncy houses for the wee ones.
  • Enjoy live music by Carey Big Band and Thomas Hall.
  • Get your face painted. Or visit “Paint a Brick” to be part of a monumental mural honoring William Carey. It’s in progress at Thomas Fine Arts Center. When complete, the mural will measure 23 feet high x 130 feet wide.
  • Choose which balloon animal you want.
  • Enjoy the stars, talk to friends, or make new ones.

Additional parking will be available near the ballfields on Tommy King Drive or the soccer fields on William Carey Parkway. A shuttle service will bring guests to the carnival venue.

To pre-register online for a wrist band that entitles the wearer to free food and rides, visit https://gowcu.info/carey-carnival. Or if you prefer, you can register once you arrive.

Questions? Call (601) 318-6192.
