The Scriptural passage for today is found in 1 Peter 2-9: “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him, Who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” The apostles were inspired often to offer the early Christians encouragement and support by reminding them of their exalted place in God’s sight.. Their acceptance of Jesus as their Lord and Savior set them apart and made them a separate people. The same holds true for us today. God wants our total commitment, allegiance, and love, because the covenant He has forged with us, and we with Him, is a very special one. To keep that bond strong and vital, we need to be in constant contact with God through prayer and the study of His Word. “They will know we are Christian by our love.” Amen!
