WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Institute for Learning in Retirement Program has named Julie Wright of Brookhaven as their new program coordinator.
“We are excited to add Julie to our Community Programs staff,” said Dean of Community Programs Dr. Brenda Orr. “She brings the knowledge and experience necessary to sustain the well-established ILR program, and the leadership skills to guide the program moving forward.”
Wright received her Bachelor’s degree from The University of Southern Mississippi and Master’s degree from Delta State University. She spent 30 years in education, retiring as Head of School at Brookhaven Academy. She is married to Jimmy Wright, who she first met at a Co-Lin football game over 30 years ago, and they are the parents of Jameson (Karly) Wright, Jenna Wright, and the late Jansen Wright. They are the proud grandparents of Nolan Jansen.
“I am honored to be given this opportunity and excited about getting to know the ILR members,” said Wright. “The committees have a busy semester planned, with opportunities to attend luncheons, workshops, and trips. There is something for everyone to enjoy, and I am looking forward to all of it.”
The ILR Program was founded in November 1996 and is a nonprofit, member-driven organization dedicated to meeting the learning, social, and recreational needs of our maturing population. Membership in the ILR is open to individuals who are age 50 and older and who are retired or semiretired. Members pay a membership fee and are encouraged to actively participate in the activities offered. They may attend any of the noncredit classes and workshops, tours and trips, social events, luncheons, and much more during each spring and fall semester.
For more information, contact Wright at 601.643.8700 or email julie.wright@colin.edu.
