At approximately 7:30 Wednesday morning, January 16, 2019, a two car accident occurred on highway 49 near Simpson Academy and Howard Industries. The north bound lane of highway 49 was backed up with traffic for approximately 45 minutes.
We have limited information at this time.
According to people on the scene, the passenger in one of the cars was a student at Simpson Academy. The young lady was wearing her seat belt and the air bag deployed. Drivers of both cars were taken by ambulance to the hospital .
Simpson Academy website has reported the student in the wreck was Ellie Hilton a junior at SCA who should be ok.
