Womack Scholarship Established
WESSON- The Donald Womack Legacy Annual Scholarship was recently established with the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Foundation by Richard Womack Construction. The full tuition scholarship will be awarded this fall to a Simpson County resident who is a graduate or will graduate from a Simpson County High School, has a 2.5 GPA and financial need, and will attend Co-Lin’s Simpson County Center.
The scholarship was created in memory of the late Donald R. Womack by his son, Richard and his wife, Michele. Womack was a member of the Simpson County Board of Supervisors from 1996 until 2003 and during that time held the position of president of the board from 2000 to 2003. Womack was instrumental in the establishment of the Simpson County Center.
Vice President of the Simpson County Center, Dr. Dewayne Middleton is pleased to present the scholarship to an incoming student at his campus.
“We truly appreciate the support provided to our students from donors like the Womacks in the Simpson County area,” Middleton said. “Their donations make it possible for our students to continue their education while staying close to home.”
Gifts to the Co-Lin Foundation are tax deductible to the extent of IRS regulations. Contributions to the Womack Scholarship or other Co-Lin scholarships or programs may be sent to P.O. Box 649, Wesson, MS 39191 or online at www.colin.edu/alumni-foundation.
