“This was a complete performance from front to back by our team,” stated Co-Lin head coach Tom Cosgrave.

The Wolves wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as sophomore forward Hardy Lewis (Brandon) beat the Eagles keeper with an assist from freshman forward Diogo Silvestre (Vallorbe, Switzerland) to give the Wolves a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute of the match.

The Wolves continued finding scoring opportunities but could not take advantage of them as the score stood at 1-0 at halftime.

The Wolves added their second goal of the match as Lewis scored on a header off a corner kick by sophomore midfielder Will Ballenger (Brandon) to take a 2-0 lead in the 55th minute of the match. The final goal of the match came from the Lewis and Silvestre connection once again as Silvestre scored in the 67th minute with an assist from Lewis to increase the lead to 3-0.

The Wolves then allowed the Eagles to have just one shot on goal in the final 23 minutes of the match to seal the shutout victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Leo Summers (Cornwall, England) saved all five shots on goal he faced throughout the match.

“We created lots of chances going forward from multiple players and keeping a clean sheet in this conference is not an easy feat to accomplish,” added Cosgrave. “We were very happy with the way that we played in the match.”

Co-Lin improves to 4-1-1 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play and will return to action hosting Itawamba on Friday, September 23. The action on the pitch between the Indians and the Wolves will kickoff at 1 pm, in Stone Stadium.
