Willie L. McLendon, 91 of Mendenhall, passed from this life Thursday, June 23, 2016.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 27, 2016, at 2:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 26, 2016, from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
Mr. McLendon was a farmer, a plumber, an electrician, and he worked in the timber industry. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by daughter: Carolyn Roberts, son-in-law: Mackie Roberts, sister: Vernie Meadows, brother-in-law: Luther Ottis Meadows, two sisters-in-law: Edna Earl Williams and Mary Joe Robertson, grandsons: Stanley (Jennifer) Roberts, Carl (Jill) Roberts and Nathan Roberts, great grandchildren: Jacob Roberts, Carson Roberts, Karlee Roberts, Hadlea Roberts, EmmaLynn Roberts, and Abby Roberts, and a host of nieces and nephews
Mr. McLendon is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years: Nell Williams McLendon, father: Ward McLendon, mother: Lela Abernathy McLendon and brother: Charline McLendon.
