Willie Jean Shorter, 87, of Braxton, Mississippi, died Wednesday at Baptist Hospital. She was born Saturday, September 6, 1930.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the New Zion Baptist Church in Braxton, MS.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM at New Zion Baptist Church in Braxton, MS. The Burial will follow in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601) 847-4401
Mrs. Shorter was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. She was a librarian for many years, she served as a volunteer at Simpson General Hospital. Her hobby was Stampin’ Up crafts with Mary Lea and friends.
Mrs. Shorter was preceded in death by her husband M.L. Shorter; Parents John Bush and Lera Bush; Son John Shorter; Brother Thomas Bush.
Mrs. Shorter is survived by her daughters Jean Davis (Jerry) and Debbie Williamson (Phillip); Sons Charles Shorter (Diane) and Victor Shorter 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; Sister-in-Law Jackie Bush Purser; Daughter-in-law Glenda Shorter.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Davis, Milissa Sizemore, Trampus Carr, Clay Sizemore, Garrett Sizemore and Kirk Shorter. Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Shorter, Melissa Shorter, Jack Bush and Earl Entrekin.
