William Tony Harvey
(February 27, 1949 – November 5, 2020)

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at The Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive for William Tony Harvey, 71, of Mount Olive, Mississippi, who passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Dr. Bob Phillips and Reverend David Brewer will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Waco-Fairmont Cemetery in Mize, Mississippi. Special music will be provided by his grandchildren, Paige Harvey and Cody Harvey. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Hetrick, Cody Harvey, Eric Harrison, Tim Harrison, Jacob Harvey, Scott White, and Chris Harvey.

Mr. Harvey was born on Sunday, February 27, 1949 in Magee, Mississippi to John W. Harvey and Bonnie Lee Sellers Harvey. He was a graduate of the Mount Olive High School Class of 1967. Mr. Harvey was a carpenter for over forty years working for numerous companies. He owned and operated T and E Poultry Farm for seventeen years until his retirement. Mr. Harvey was a member of the Sunshine Baptist Church in Mount Olive. He proudly served his country in the Army-National Guard.

His greatest accomplishment in life was being a loving son, husband, father, pawpaw, and brother. Mr. Harvey enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Harvey.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Ellen Tanner Harvey of Mount Olive; his mother, Bonnie Lee Sellers Harvey of Collins; one son, Shad Harvey, and his wife, Annette of Mount Olive; one daughter, Tonja Harvey Shaffer, and her husband, Troy of Hattiesburg; six grandchildren, Haley Layton, Paige Harvey (Brandon Hetrick), Madison Layton, and Cody Harvey (Caitlyn), Erika Shaffer, and T.J. Shaffer; three great-grandchildren, Hagan Hetrick, Makenzie Hetrick, and Kaisley Harvey; two brothers, Randall Harvey, and his wife, Opal and Russell Harvey, all of Collins; two sisters, Betty Harvey Fry, and her husband, Darroch of Katy, Texas; and Barbara Harvey Graham, and her husband, Mike of Collins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
