William Joe ‘Billy’ Anderson
November 7, 1963 – June 3, 2026
A private service will be scheduled at a later date.
Billy was born on November 7, 1963 in Magee General Hospital in Mississippi. He worked at Sanderson Farms in Laurel, MS for several years and then moved on to A& B Enterprise in Raleigh where he was a team leader. Billy was a member of MT. Nebo Baptist Church in Bay Springs, MS.
Billy was a generous man with a heart of gold and would do anything to help others. He loved hunting and fishing and just being outdoors in general. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Anderson.
Survivors include his parents, DC & Joann Anderson, one daughter, Heather Fortenberry of Raleigh, two sisters, Janice Harrison (Roy) of Homewood, Linda Rhodes (Max) of Raleigh and one brother Johnny Anderson (Hope) of Raleigh. Two grandchildren, Dixcie Fortenberry and Gauge Fortenberry of Morton. and a host of nieces and nephews and lots of cousins.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews: Jacob McGriff, Logan Pennington, Blake Pennington, Jonathon Rhodes, Landin Rhodes and Jarred Revette
