MageeNews.com Issues Warning About Suspicious Emails

June 19, 2026

Please read below and see if there is something you can contribute.

Due to the unforeseen circumstances of Saturday, January 21. 2017, many William Carey students lost all their belongings and therefore need items due to the tornado. The University of Southern Mississippi has graciously allowed William Carey students to have access to Hillcrest & Wilbur dorm hall, and students have already began to resettle there. Please bring any of the items below to the facilities building (near the baseball field) at WCU where packages will be made for students who lost everything. You can also contact Josiah Lee at 1-601-900-9014 for information about picking up items. Any cash that would like to be donated can be give to Josiah Lee, or dropped off at 1665  Mt.Zion Road, Magee, MS 39111

Items needed:
Twin Sheets
Blankets
Snacks
Drinks
Toiletries
Hygiene products
Clothes
Shoes
Gift Cards to stores or restaurants
Any unused and used computers, tables, or phones

Note: Many of the students housed in the dorms affected by the storm are international students. They do not have family here to come and get them and now many of them do not have a Passport either.

Donations can be made to the “Tornado Damage Fund” on the William Carey University website.
