Wilburn Cook, 96 of Perkinston, MS

Wilburn Cook, 96 of Perkinston, MS passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the Eva’s Place Assisted Living Facility in Perkinston, MS. He was born Tuesday, September 7, 1926 in Magee, Mississippi.

  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee.  Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, MS. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

   Mr. Cook retired from the Civil Service after 23 years. He served in the U.S. Navy and the Army National Guard. He loved to cook and garden and loved his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

  He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Byrd Cook; daughter, Vera Mundt; parents, Henry and Katie Cook; twelve siblings.

  Survivors include his sons, John David Cook (Cheryl) and Bobby Ware; grandchildren, Johnny Byrd (Lisa), Lynn Bass (Michael), Mark Ware (Tracy), Michelle Koressel (Jeff) and Troy Cook (Logan); eight great-grandchildren.

  Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.

  A special thanks to Eva’s Place and staff for their wonderful care.
