Author Charlie Spillers, a former Marine, agent, federal prosecutor, Justice Attache for Iraq, author of a best selling book “Confessions of an Undercover Agent” and a former Magee High School student, paid a visit to MageeNews.com on his way back from Hattiesburg to Oxford. (See, I told ya’ll all roads lead to Magee!).
Charlie posted on FB last week that he would be speaking at USM. I shared the post. Charlie contacted me about stopping for for a visit (and of course I said interview)! I interviewed Charlie when “Confessions of an Undercover Agent” was released in 2016. Patrice and I loaded up the car…acting like we knew what we were doing…went to University Press in Jackson and interviewed Charlie. A lot has changed since that interview! Who knew his book would become a best seller and remain on the Top 10 Best Seller list at the end of 2017. As people say, the rest is history.
Charlie’s book is great…but if a book is not marketed correctly…the book may never be read! Charlie knows how to market. He knows hard work, seeing people, book tours, interviews, social media and speaking engagements is the path to follow to achieve people reading his book. Charlie has got this under control. But, he never stops!
In the interview, Charlie tells about his upcoming book, “Whirlwind,” and plans for yet another book. “Confessions of an Undercover Agent” is scheduled to be released in paper back March 14th.
Charlie always claims his Magee roots! Interviewing Charlie is a dream job! Not only is he handsome, smart, articulate…he can also talk and you can understand him!!!
“Confessions of an Undercover Agent” is available on Amazon. Read it!
I hope Charlie will always remember “all road do lead to Magee” and he will keep us on his route!
