Rain, rain, and more rain…this week has and is a wet one!
Thursday night, the The Magee Fire Department responded to Roseburg Forest Products in Taylorsville  for mutual aid @ the request of Taylorsville FD. The MFD ladder truck was needed! I believe that truck got a work out…at one time the smoldering fire reignited causing need for the truck again. Fire Departments from all over came to the Georgia Pacific plant. (as most of us call it). Prayers were answered and no one was injured.
A five car pile up happened around 3 Friday afternoon. I heard the sirens…and I knew something bad had happened…I think everything in Magee that had a siren headed to the scene. We have not be given an update on the accident but the Magee PD is pretty good about keeping us in the loop.
Most baseball and tennis matches have been canceled…this rain is here to stay for the weekend!
Spring break began to day for area schools! Many families are taking advantage of the break for trips to the beach and Disney World…all I can say is please be careful!
MS Supreme Court Judge Dawn Bean came by for a visit at MageeNews.com Thursday. I’m just saying…I was impressed. She was appointed by our governor following the resignation of Judge Randy Pierce, who became director of the Mississippi Judicial College. I hope you will take time to listen to the interview which is posted on Happenings under Out and About…she is sharp!!!
I’m just saying, I love the “ask me to the prom” postings and ideas…but mercy, I would hate to figure out what to do…I think I like the days when the guy…or girl called you up or just asked you at school…but hey, look at all the fun I missed!
I hope everyone has a safe weekend…wrecks up and down the highway…at one point North and South bound lanes were closed around Collins from wrecks. In other words…only drive if you have to!
