For years I have begged the honorable and fabulous James Davis to write for me.  Well, he never would.  He is quite an entertaining writer who makes words come to life on a page.

A year or so ago, James began writing a column on his personal Facebook page.  The column was in three parts:  life’s happening, devotion, and charge for the day!

I have finally persuaded James to allow me to post the devotional part of his articles.  The articles are inspiring…challenging…and right on the mark for what many of us need.

I will obtain an official (ha) bio from James to share with ya’ll.  He is a  former English teacher, Chief of Staff for former Senator Thad Cochran, Pianist , and an antique guru!

Welcome, James!!! I am thrilled to bring your writings to

James’ articles will be posted on “Ducks on the Pond” which is a part of SueNews.

The Scriptural passage selected for today comes from 1 Thessalonians 3:13: “May He strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all His holy ones.” Amen! This should be a prayer we all should pray. Let us stay close to God, study, be prayerful, and blameless so that we will be counted holy and worthy when Jesus returns in all His glory. The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God!
Today, as we go about making the daily rounds and common tasks, let’s not forget to share the love, joy, and kindness with others. As you know, God expects us to do so. Amen! is an online news source covering Simpson and surrounding counties as well as the State of Mississippi.
