Welch Promoted to Vice President
At Peoples Bank
MAGEE – Dennis Ammann, President and Chief Executive Officer at Peoples Bank, today announced that Shannon Welch has been promoted from Assistant Vice President to Vice President. Ms. Welch has been affiliated with Peoples Bank for 23 years and serves as a Business Loan Officer in Mendenhall.
Ms. Welch is a graduate of Magee High School and has completed studies at the Mississippi School of Banking, conducted at the University of Mississippi. Additionally, she has completed the Advanced Commercial Lending School hosted by the Mississippi Bankers Associations and is a 2011 graduate of the Leadership of Simpson County Program.
A resident of Simpson County for more than 30 years, she is active in local civic organizations, serving as Vice President of the Mendenhall Business Women’s Club and a Board member of both the Mendenhall Chamber of Commerce and Future Leaders of Simpson County.
Ms.Welch and her husband, Allen, who owns Old Fannin Auto Plex in Flowood, have three daughters: Meagan, Lauren and Lila. They attend Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Blakeney Promoted To Vice President
At Peoples Bank, Magee
MAGEE – Dennis Ammann, President and Chief Executive Officer at Peoples Bank, today announced that Jacob Blakeney has been promoted to Vice President. He serves as a Loan Officer in the bank’s Magee Office and has been affiliated with Peoples Bank for three years.
A Magee native, Blakeney received his degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University and earned his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College. He has also completed studies at the Mississippi Banking School, held at the University of Mississippi, and the Southern Methodist University Banking School.
Blakeney serves on the Boards of both Simpson County Development Foundation and the Magee Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of Ducks Unlimited. He and his wife, Amanda, have one daughter: Annmarie.
